OP should have been slowing down and anticipating this.

OP won't get a lot of sympathy from urban riders here.

In Frankfurt I probably had 3-4 of those per day.

Ride defensively, you don't have a point to prove.

after watching a second time, the cyclist should have slowed down, more than enough time after the wheels of the van cut into the bike lane and get behind the van while it made it's turn.

it's not a race you know.

edit: i may also be more aware but I often have parked cars on side (essentially living in the door zone) and moving traffic on the other with a mix of peds and others to worry about.
