Bikes: 1986 Alpine (steel road bike), 2009 Ti Habenero, 2013 Specialized Roubaix

I don't think it's worth putting $300 into the bike.

On the other hand, I suspect you could fix what is really "broken" for a lot less.

So I agree you should try a budget fix and maybe save up for a new or gently used bike for next year.
