I get that, encounter it on my route myself, but that's when I move to the left and put myself between the right turn lane and the other lane (proceeding through the intersection).
Puts me in a (at least to me) safer position and eliminates someone potentially right turning in front of me too.
I'd do this as well, pushing up into the crosswalk if necessary.
