I guess you probably don't wear your seat belt because you could just as easily die in a crash either way.

To be truthful, I don't care what shape anyone's tires are in as long as the ones I'm riding are in good shape. I agree that you'll probably get many more miles out of it, but when you're eating pavement and wondering why the tire blew out, buying a new one won't seem like such an over-the-top idea.
