Being in this business I have heard some horror stories... I know one shop that says they could pay all their bills by repairing another shop's mistakes.
When a shop bills you $70.00 an hour for labour one would expect that they would get some professional service but mechanics only get paid a fraction of that so really qualified people are harder to find because they are not going to work for peanuts.
This is probably my biggest gripe with many shops, the rates do not reflect the level of service and although I understand that a brick and mortar shop has to pay the bills, some are nearly criminal in how much they mark things up (I know how much most things cost).
My favourite, or least favourite, was when someone told me they paid $60.00 to have a spoke replaced.
