i'm working on a schwinn right now that has a solid rear axle like yours. i'm going to hunt down a hollow one and a skewer this week so its new owner can change a flat without using a wrench.

i also changed out the levers to those without auxiliary levers. it makes fitting hoods a snap, and now the cockpit is that much more beautiful and comfortable.
