The problem is that this thread is not about what your beliefs are regarding core fitness and cycling. It is a thread where a person specifically asks for ideas of core exercises. Clearly you don't do any so your role here is simply to tell the OP that he/she should not do them either. How many posts does that take?
My point to you Dave is I believe you miss the point of the article. That fit is transcendent. This is my point. Fit has to match the fitness of the rider.
And there is more. Proportions of the rider matter for fit. So does hip flexibility in terms of back position...elongated versus hunch back. This determines net setback for the saddle and weight distribution on the bike. Core is incidental. That is the point. Its also the reason why a fit 80 year old cyclist can ride his bolt upright cruiser which is harder to pedal than a road bike to the store and back and feel fine. If he did the same ride with 3 inches of drop on a road bike, his body would likely hurt. Same core, same rider. Fit.
