Sounds more like Gear Aquisition Syndrome to me. If anyone really NEEDED 4,500 lumens of light they'd already be driving with it. Mounting multiple lower output Lupines would amount to the same thing - and still be more expensive and less effective than some of the offroad lights that have been available for ATVs, Skidoos and MX motorcycles for years.
Your post made me smile and yes you are probably right. I've experimented using multiple lamps to see how it would change things. I really don't see the point of using lamps that give you more than 2000 lumens UNLESS you are heavily into fast off-road downhilling. The lamps I use give me the potential for 1200 lumen on the bars and 750 lm on the helmet. Even so, 80% of the time I am running lower levels of light.
My focus now is on "improved lighting". Better optics, better UI's, lighter/smaller set-ups, better mounting options. I have enough raw output I just look for more refined products.
