What color did you paint it? I really like homemade, especially when it works better than store bought. I did see aluminum tube and flat bar right along side the steel at Home Depot. Lighter and more expensive, but looks strong enough. Glad I'm not the only one 'fabricating' custom gear. Seems like we cargo/utility folks sorta have to so we get something that works.
