Bikes: 1991 Serotta Colorado II, 1986 Vitus 979, 1971 Juene Classic, 2008 Surly Crosscheck, 1956 Riva Sport

I am looking to build a bike using the Gunnar Rock Tour frame.

The frame has the following specs:

rake=39

trail=70

Could someone explain what the terms rake and trail mean?

Also, explain what the values of 39 and 70 mean to the handling of the bike.
