I haven't done Cat's Hill, but was interested in the Vacaville GP so one day when I was driving through Vacaville I scouted out the course. Its a pretty decent hill, not too steep, but much longer/steeper than some of the routing site (ridewithgps) would lead you to believe. Figure 40ish feet gain at 5-7% grade. Enough to hurt in a 60ish minute crit. The best I can do for perspective is some google street view:
