I have Shimano bar end shifters, which came standard on my LHT. Recently, the "hoods" or "covers" on those shifters were ripped off, leaving bare-metal shifting levers. By "hoods" or "covers", I'm referring to the soft, light-gray coverings on the shifting levers that can be seen in this photo:

The shifters work fine, so I'm not interested in buying complete replacements. That said, I liked how the shifters used to feel and I would like some sort of replacement for the old covers. Any suggestions? It seems unlikely that Shimano sells replacement covers, so perhaps there is some sort of tape or other material that could serve as a replacement?
