Worst thing about salmoning on a DIVIDED street is many drivers aren't looking to the right until they get half way across to the median because traffic isn't expected moving both ways on each side of the street. I have nearly missed several "salmon" this way. I see it almost exclusively with elderly men. It must be something they were taught as child, some holdover from the 30s, 40s and 50s when their moms instructed them how to pedal down elm tree lined streets. Sh&t, it's scary.
I once had a county Mountie stop me on a rural highway and make me move to the opposite side of the road to salmon against traffic. I did that for about 100 yards until he was out of sight and then crossed back over. What is wrong with people?
