Astoria to Reedsport , then over the coast range to Eugene .. As i noted in another thread

South of Eugene , Amtrack goes over the Cascades and the rest of the route is east of the Mountains , Klamath Falls ,

into California via Mt Shasta , Sacramento, etc.
