I'm not sure where you get your data from;
1 inch flat nylon webbing has a break strength of 3000 pounds,
1 inch polyester has a break strength of 3800.
Polypropylene is weaker, and more prone to abrasion. No doubt about that.
Polyester does come in better colors though.
