The thing with 16 inch Dahons is the flex in the stem... I'll use the word 'handlepost' as that's official terminology. The handlepost is the same as on 20" bikes but the head tube is lower and therefore the stem must be longer to achieve the same handlebar height. This results in more flex.
Besides that if they're still fitting Big Apple tyres I find them great fun on 16" wheels, and the bike in general is a lot of fun.
