It's a steel framed single speed mountain bike with no suspension at all. Kind of like a big BMX bike. A mountain bike that costs under $500 is not going to work very well at all anyway, so why waste money on gears that don't shift and a suspension fork that just bounces up and down like a slinky? Most single speed mountain bikers get there via the long way, but you can short circuit the whole thing and go straight to one gear nirvana.
dont make me take the fork off my bike and beat you.... he need suspension..i used to be real big in bmx..and ill tell u what..i got this hardrock..and it makes my haro backtrail, that has practically nothing stock left on the bike (primo power bite cranks..o yea), look like a pos.... i can outjump it... it rides nicer and i can offroad with it... I think ull like mountain biking... and you can use some cool bmx tricks to show up ur friends on ur mountain bike
