Hey everyone,

New to the forums, new to single speed bikes.

I have done a ton of searching on this subject over the past couple days but haven't found anything particularly recent, or struggled with UK availability of certain bikes.

I'm looking to buy my first single speed (ideally with a freewheel) for my relatively flat 2 mile commute. Reasons for wanting a SS are: low maintenance, strengthen my skinny ass legs, and, well, they look cool in my opinion.

My budget is around £400 UK, which I guess would be something like $500.

I've seen recommendations like the Kilo, and the IRO Mark V, but neither seem to be available in the UK.

I looked at the Fuji Track Classic, but having just spoke to a UK store, they said it's a terrible bike for a commute as it's "aggressive" and obviously a track bike. They recommended the Feather instead... how's that?

Again, apologies for dragging up a tired topic, I just want to make sure I get a quality bike that's gonna last me rather than some piece of junk that just looks pretty.
