I had a driver pull along side me, during this morning's commute and tell me that I'm supposed to be over by the curb, not in the middle of the lane. This was in a part of my commute where there are several traffic lights, so we got to continue the discussion for a bit, at each red light. It's a four lane road with a median and lanes obviously too narrow to share with a bicycle.
It went something like this:
Him: "Hey, you're supposed to be over by the curb, not in the middle of the lane."
Me: "No, learn the law!"
Him: "Hey, I ride a bike three days a week. You're the kind of rider who makes us all look like d***s."
Me: "Well, you're not doing it safely and you're the kind of rider who makes it more dangerous for those of us who know how to ride in traffic."
Him: "You are supposed to be over by the curb. I ride a bicycle too on these same roads."
Me: "You must not ride on this road. We just passed a sign that says bicycle may use full lane."
I edited out some of the name calling, on both sides and it deteriorated to nothing but name calling from there.
I figure it's only pertinent to this thread because the general public and many cyclists don't understand FRAP laws, anyway.
