I told her to get a basic one with speed, mph, average speed, and total miles. I told her she needs to learn to ride first and Cadence would be an unneccessary distraction at this stage of the game. For a newbie ,or a person with limited tech interest, it's always best to K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid). Find a bike computer with the bare basics for this person so that it will get used.
