So started biking with my family on Saturday. Bought 4 new bikes and started riding. 2 miles Saturday, 7 miles of flat trail Sunday, 3 miles of moderate hills on Monday and 4.75 of moderate hills yesterday. Today I told the wife I was going alone. I rode 9.99 miles with some major hills. Elevation changes were over 650 feet. I rode the whole 9.99 in 37 minutes. Im 6 foot 3 and 290ish. I felt this was an accomplishment for riding under 1 week.
Good effort - it's always a boost to set a new personal best. The great thing is the desire to set a new PB will never go away.
For me if I'd done 9.99 miles I'd have rolled a little past the house to tip it over to 10. I've done that a few times when I get back home half a mile short of a nice round number, and taken a side street for long enough to roll it over the milestone.
