I'd also say that you should think very hard about going that route. Look might be willing to help you out on the shorts, handlebars, etc, in exchange for a release, and that could be worth exploring.

Antoher possiblity would be to look and see if there is any class action already pending regarding the pedals, from wihich you might be able to recover with not much more effort than submtting receipts

But pursuing a full blown products liability claim on your own, is an expensive, time consuming, privacy invading matter, and you really don't have the damages that would justify investing in such an effort.
