I probably am not "restoring" my bike, but I am not sure what term to use. I am not interested in repainting or performing any cosmetic improvements beyond removing dirt, muck, and rust but I am going much further than "cleaning" would imply. Perhaps "overhauling" is appropriate?

The "unrusted" pedal is the original pedal shown in this post - after its overnight bath in evapo-rust. The other pedal is taking its bath now.
