I'm considering mustache bars for my son's Nishiki Cresta GT, which he will use for short commuting and all-around Seattle use. I nabbed a $10 steel set, on sale, but am now not sure about using them since they weigh about double what alloy drop bars would weigh!

Also, they are 21" wide (compared to 16/17" for drop bars), which may not be ideal for city use...navigating bike lanes, pedestrians, parked cars, etc.

Does anyone offer an alloy mustache bar for reasonable money?
Do any come in a narrower width?
