I have some steel ones (I'm pretty sure) made by Origin 8, and they're really not that heavy. I have no idea what they cost new, LOL, I got them used at Recycled Cycles awhile back. Yes, they are wider than drop bars, and they position your arms & everything else a lot differently (more forward-reaching than I expected), but for long arms & wide shoulders, they're great. It's kind of a halfways point, between flat bars & drop bars, that suits me perfectly, but might not be for everyone. Worth a try though, if you get the right deal. BTW, these ones are sized for road levers, which is fine, but I kinda wish they made a similar bar, in a smaller diameter, so we could use MTB type parts. (?)
