I can and have sold older Cannondales with DT shifters for $325, just sold one last week. Tricolor STI is sweet, really sweet. As a keeper, I would have no problems paying $450 for it. That might sound high, but you have a lot of bike there. And upgrading a Cannondale to tricolor STI would cost you A LOT more.
My two favorite STI groups are 6400 and 7400 (Dura Ace). The tricolor STI has the advantage that it works with any Shimano indexed RD, whereas the 7400 STI requires a 7400 DA RD. So really, the 6400 series is a better option.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
