I'm a big fan of the etrex 20 ($167 on Amazon) (etrex 30 without altimeter). Our group has standardized on this model along with ridewithGPS. And my group is probably the target market for this new device (more touring and routing features than bike computer and exercise features). I'd have to play with the new device to see how it is any better or different than the etrex 20. BTW, I find the standard, cheap garmin handlebar mount works very well. We had a unit on another mount break off and tumble down the road. I had an extra garmin mount which he used for the rest of the trip without any problems.

And battery life is excellent. I left one on overnight and it continued to work for the entire next day. And changeable batteries (not rechargeable) is big for me.
