If your friends have track bikes you'll be more than fine with the Uno. It's a plus you can throw on wide studded tires if theirs snow where you live too. It's a really nice bike I own a surly steamroller which is very similar and I love it. I do light dirt/rocky trails with it but I also throw on skinny 23's sometimes and haul ass through traffic.
