Keep in mind that riding into headwinds is like riding uphill, and downwind, like downhill. Singlespeed may become a liability, but could be a challenge worth meeting. If your knees are OK, give it a try. Personally, I love gears, so singlespeed would be out. The Troll gives you the option to run SS or geared.
