Bikes: I don't own any bikes

California is in the middle of a very warm heat wave... to beat the heat, my riding buddy and I took off work Friday and drove up to Big Bear/Snow Summit. It was warm there too but not as bad. You start climbing at 8000' so it takes me a good 1/2 hour to catch my breathe and feel comfortable. Our plan was to climb up the mountain to try the new singletrack on Snow Summit called Skyline which runs along or near the fire road. The trail has some sketchy technical parts but my ride partner was able to ride everything; I had to walk the sketchy parts.

As we finished up, we changed clothes and then started to eat lunch when dark storm clouds rolled in and the thunder and lightning started. We packed up and got into the car and all of a sudden the biggest raindrops ever started to fall. Very cool! When we got back to Orange County at 3 pm the temperature was 105! Wowzer!
