There's no mention of this on the USAC page for LA. It seems that these are in a hermetically sealed container, set away from other racing activity. I didn't recognize any of the names of the past winners, either. Is this the same in other places?
Hi revchuck, Senior Games are "unsanctioned" races. I guess technically, USAC could suspend you for racing Senior Games based on some UCI insanity from earlier this year. This is partly why I started the separate Senior Games thread. Not that I'm worried about getting suspended, but because at the state level it's very different from USAC races -- much more congenial and supportive.

In California, I'd estimate that 30-50% of the field is USAC licensed racers for the 50-59 age ranges and the winners are USAC racers. Once you get above age 60, the percentage of USAC racers decreases significantly, but the winners are still typically USAC racers. That's why the National Senior Games have such a high percentage of USAC racers.

The NSGA (National Senior Games Association) coordinates the state games and establishes the qualifying procedures for the National Senior Games. For reference, at the state level, 2013 is just for state championships. 2014 is the qualifying year for the 2016 national games.

Hope this helps.
