Touching Up...which paint?

OK, now that I have my recently acquired Raleigh Competition GS stripped, it's time for some touchup.

Black is good: looks cool and easy to match. Black is bad when used over white primer: every scratch shows.

Found some good info in this thread.

Need to know your experiences on what type and brand of paint, and where to buy in small quantities. Enamel, lacquer (wonderfully workable), epoxy, fingernail polish?

I have tested Rustoleum gloss black enamel thinned 50% with acetone, have to wait until it cures. Wonder if it will be hard enough?
