55 miles in the blazing sun; summer is finally here. 92 deg F. I fooled around a bit too much in the first part of the ride; racing up the hills, sprinting against nobody, etc. Paid for that on the last ten miles; legs had no pop left, starting to feel the cramps.
We passed several corn fields that had recently been run through with the combine. Lots of hunters dressed in their camouflage sitting in the middle of these fields, waiting for noon so dove season could start. Several had coolers, one guy even brought a large umbrella. Might as well be comfortable.
