Frankly, they were just fine in Seattle wet stuff--like any tire, I had to watch the mossy stuff over wood bridge crossing or wet leaves, but they never did anything unpredictable. The only time I've ever felt the "need" for treads on a tire is off road, or in standing/deep water where hydroplaning might be an issue. At my weight, my slicks just slice through to the bottom.. lol!
