I was thinking about all the negativity here regarding taking up the Lynskey 0% interest offer. How it is the devil incarnate. How it will undermine the economic fabric of the good ole USA. How cash is king. How if you haven't saved for it, you can't have it. Yada, yada, yada. I say, "Sour grapes."
Then I imagined a guy answering his doorbell yesterday afternoon and FedEx handing him a big cardboard box. Inside is his new $5,000 Lynskey. He did the final assembly stuff last night and is out riding it this morning. He has a good income and has his expenses under control, just didn't have $5,000 laying around that wasn't better allocated to his fully funded 6-month rainy day fund. Anyway he has his 24-$208.34 payments covered, has them all scheduled on his bank's internet bill paying service, and since that was the best Lynskey deal anybody could get, he isn't out any extra bucks. And he is rolling along with this big smile on his face. He is chuckling, maybe even laughing all the way to the next hill. I'm with him, figuratively at least. Ride on, Dude! Live long and prosper!
