The LBS I wrench at from time to time has some insanely expensive carbon on the floor with electronic shifting, all the reps say basically the same thing... carbon is for the 150 and under crowd, some frames are good up to 185, beyond that suggest a metal frame. C'mon seriously, at a bulky 225, should I really feel safe on a 15 pound bike? The Bianchi rep said they would not warrantee their new carbon frames (carbon seatposts too) if the rider was over 185, makes the shop accountable to sell the proper frame if the buyer is a clydesdale or athena. Even so, it doesn't stop all the "dreamers" from buying a carbon fiber death trap! I would never ride a carbon frame but that doesn't mean I'm in the clear if some chubby guy tries to get all Lance Armstrong and snaps his frame right in front of me! Bunny hop? I hope that days never comes!!!
