Maybe your cleats aren't the ones being discussed here. Of course, it looks like a lot of the people above are using something similar so maybe my cleats are the oddities.
I didn't realize we were only discussing ones that cost more than $300. The OP said "eventually I may invest in clipless pedals. Do they make a large impact?" so I was under the impression that things haven't got to that point yet.
