I went from an Alfine 11 on a Specialized Source to a Rohloff Surly Troll. Like Cyclebum said, ensure you calculate up what your lowest desired gear inches should be. The hub itself is ridiculously expensive, I've got about $1300 in just the rear wheel and install but so far I feel it's worth it and I'm happy with the upgrade.
