Shucks, I guess I've been doing all wrong -- I've been using a SunTour Compe V combined with a Sakae SX 48-38-28 triple on my Fuji S-10S for years! I think it was around 1987 that I put it on there. Yes, it shifts just fine on all three chainrings with SunTour barcons.

I couldnt cope with your gear choice though as my knees suffer enough with my 17.3 gear inches at the low end when I'm laden.
I'd really like one inch lower but that would put my IGH out of warranty spec.
I think my high gear is in the very low 90's but never utilise it.
I cant push it on the flat and prefer to coast down hills.
Again - your Fuji looks like a work of art.
