I know the margins on normal in season bikes is pretty thin... it's the little stuff that has the real markup so most shops can sweeten a deal of a new bike with the accessories...

that being said... it sounds like you are just visiting a high priced bike shop (unless as mentioned above you are getting a quote including tax)...

the best thing you can do is go in with as much knowledge as possible... as they say knowledge is power... if they have something you like haggle, if you need some other things see about getting them to toss it in...
