huh?? Ive never heard that. I ride with time atacs on my mtb and speedplays on my roadie, I mounted my own cleats, its not difficult, and my knees are great. Both sets of my pedals have a good amount of float.

I also recommend the blue loctite on your cleat bolts.

some manufacturers have a torque spec (speedplay being one of them), which is important for proper engagement/release.
