lots of mass produced hubs have the 6 bolt disc mount , and a rim with a brake track .

you can leave off the disc if you wish..

visit the LBS and look.

26" and now 29er /700c..

you can get a 105 hub and rebuild the axle with a 135 one as well ..

I like 10mm x 1, tpmm steel axles for this reason, easy to work with..

spoke breakage may just be a spoke issue,. maybe to keep the price low,

the company that made the wheels for the company that makes the bikes with Jamis
painted on the frame saved money on the spokes ,

now you can have them all replaced with a top brand , Retail average $1 each spoke.
