but why do I get the feeling that one of those geared bbs combined with the S3X would make a lovely fixed gear bike for riding in very hilly terrain? The S3X on its own gives nothing like the range I need at my age (not so my hyper-fit, hyper-strong son) but with this extra gearing, maybe I could avoid the 24 inch gear altogether.
