People have been complaining about the short life of Race Face MTB ISIS bottom brackets for a while now, SKF claims these will last significantly longer.

It uses roller bearings on the drive side.



Axial seal

To provide increased sealing performance and long-time durability, SKF has developed a special axial seal, which consists of two lips. While the inner lip keeps the grease inside the bearing the second lip protects the BB from dirt and water.

With this new axial seal, we do not only increase the sealing performance, but also reduce the friction within the whole bearing unit. In combination with a long life lubricant, these seals enable the bottom bracket units to work perfectly for a minimum of 10 years under normal conditions.
