You crap on rim brakes, maybe you should ask where the guy lives. Here in South Florida there is absolutely NO USE for disc brakes as nothing you would ride around here would need that much stopping power. I've been riding 20+ years in Northern California, Western Virginia and South Florida and I've never had an issue stopping with rim brakes.
