I had a work related injuries(knee(ACL/LCL, & back) that kept me off my bikes for almost a year. Happened 2 weeks before our local fondo. I trained hard for this too.
Only started cycling again in May/June.
I was bed ridden for a few weeks, got depressed , my bikes are my addiction too.
My doc told me to stay off the bike, do certain exercises, & walk.
I walked even though I really wanted to be on my bikes.
I found a great chiropractor, & he got me back on my bike.
Lost a lot of power, my climbing prowess is not where it used to be, my stamina is coming back. The summer wasn't long enough for me to get back to 100%.
Looks like I'll have to do the rest on my CXer's since the cold/wet weather has moved in.
My fluid trainer just doesn't do it for me, being outdoors is so much better.
Get another opinion before doing anything.
If you ride, take it slow, my ACL feels good, but my LCL has slight pain after climbing.
I find it really hard to find a position where its @ rest when I'm laying in bed. Its seem like it always constricted, very stiff.
I often have to bend it (back of heel to ass cheek), or straighten it out almost to overextending it.
Placing pillows underneath help.
Its more a nuisance than anything.
I prefer my chiropractor to most doctors, I find most doctors to be "pill pushers".
If I can avoid pill I will, I'll even brave the nasty tasting g eastern medicines than be a guinea pig.
