Thanks guys this is really useful info, it certainly points me in the right direction. Time to hit google to see what examples I can find ! I'll also have a measure of the seat post to try and confirm its origins.

Only thing hat confusing is why theres a plastic gear cable guide on the BB marked Raleigh, unless it's just a cheap fix for a damaged original ?
