Merino is another animal, literally. The wool is named for the Merino sheep, native to Spain. That's why the wool is so different. And it is fantastic.

I've bought merino wool things from Costco a couple of times. The first one was a black polo style shirt with long sleeves. It was only $20, and I kicked myself for buying only one.

A year ago, I bought one of those zippered sweaters for about $22. They're nice but not amazing. They're clearly cheaply made. I'm not complaining, as the price was low, so I got my money's worth.

I'd guess that whatever they have now is at least worth a look.
