I haven't ever been on a limestone trail. I do have about 1/4 mile hard packed dirt road, with the usual loose dirt and gravel, from the driveway to the paved road.

I run slicks on my bikes. I don't fell real secure on the dirt and take it quite slow. If I had much more of dirt to go I would try something with tread. My Trek had factory tires but the tread pattern was so tight it didn't help much. I did feel good enough on it to take the backroads home once in awhile.
