Something like that happened to me recently, and I left it there. A very decent road machine with flat, ruined tires, missing saddle blah blah. The question passed through my mind, "What if it really isn't just dumped?" And then I remembered the last time I passed through a police roadblock that was checking bicycle serial numbers and license registration tags. (They do that here; bicycle theft gets more national attention than leaking nuclear reactors.)

And I am not 'cured'
